Principal Teacher & Director
Loretta is the founder of and principal yoga teacher at Unfold and has been teaching yoga on a full-time basis for 15 years. Motivated by the necessity of seeking a remedy for her own back condition in her early 20’s, and experiencing a developing practise during both her pregnancies in preparation for the births of her two children, she saw the wonderful possibilities that yoga offered.
Loretta was first certified with the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) in 2003, and is a full member. She attended the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India in 2011 and more recently in 2017. Loretta has trained with Iyengar teachers since her early twenties and completed 500 hours of Iyengar teacher training in 2017, receiving her Introductory Level 2 certification. She has found Iyengar yoga to be of the greatest benefit throughout her lifetime.
Loretta encourages all people, of all ages and from all walks of life, to enjoy the benefits yoga can bring. Yoga helps to develop the mental, physical, and emotional conditions needed for lasting health and happiness. Loretta is committed to creating an environment that supports the growth of everyone’s own practice and needs. As she explains:
“What I love about yoga is that it has no point of arrival, you never get bored! It continues to engender, not the search for results, but the relish of seeds being sown.”
