Prenatal Yoga in Mount Barker

with Kel Mittal

Time: Saturdays 10:15am – 11:45am

Your yoga journey is calling…..join our community from 12 weeks gestation and up to the time of your birth.

The perfect time to do Yoga is now!

Gentle exercise that fosters strength but with softness, resilience, and calm. Our pregnancy classes are designed to nurture a positive and open mind and body throughout the changing stages of a pregnancy.

All pregnant people can attend this class. Kel, brings lightness, fun, technique and education to her classes, making them accessible to everyone. Kel is a mother and wife and lives with her family in the Adelaide hills. She is a fierce warrior for self-acceptance. Particularly encouraging women, mothers to embrace the body they are in. The world needs us to step into our own unique and authentic selves, to be in our own power, not trying to squeeze into something that is not true to our own being.

Kel is especially passionate about educating women about their body during pregnancy, birth and beyond through yoga. She wants to help guide women on this most sacred journey and to encourage them to step into their power as life givers. There is nothing more phenomenal than bringing forth life!

Prenatal Yoga in Mount Barker for all stages of pregnancy

Classes run continuously, start any time, and continue up to your birthing day. Our teacher Kel provides not only the yoga practice but a welcoming and specialised space for women to share experiences and enrich their journey towards birth with education, tools, and like-minded community.

What are the benefits of Pregnancy Yoga?

  • Learning to relax deeply: Unwind and restore your energy with specialised yoga sequences and a focused atmosphere
  • Connect with your body while connecting with other pregnant women
  • Practice cultivates confidence, dissolving fear and heightening a positive path towards birthing
  • Practicing yoga relieves, relaxes and strengthens – creating more internal space, and making adjustments for your changing shape, and your baby
  • This quiet time in yoga practice, shared with other women enriches the growing connection with yourself and your growing baby
  • Techniques, such as utilising the power of the breath, meditation, and visualisation are incorporated in these yoga classes

What should I expect from the classes?

  • Opening the body and preparing for the journey towards birth
  • Building strength, mobility, and balance – physically, mentally and emotionally.
  • Learning tools such as positions, pranayama (breath work), and mudras (hand seals), to help you navigate not only birth but also the postnatal time
  • Learning and sharing to give you the key to your birth power.

Kelly Mittal  Your Teacher

My name is Kelly but please call me Kel! I have been practising yoga since 2006 when I was introduced to it whilst living in Tokyo, Japan. I then travelled through South-East Asia, including India, the whole time seeking out yoga classes wherever I could find them!  Sometimes that looked like practising whilst overlooking the ocean and other times it was in smelly and cold basements! After returning to Adelaide, I embarked on my Teacher Training and have been teaching since 2012. I have 1000+ hours of yoga training in my yoga bank and I will continue to study. The more I learn, the more I realise that I don’t know!  I teach Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Restorative and Chair yoga but my specialty and heart is in Prenatal Yoga.

“Yoga is my rock. Without it I am scattered, ungrounded, not present to my life or those in it and my patience is in my boots. So, I practice every day. I have to and need to. It gives me the tools I need to be in my life, fully present, fully aware.” Kel
