For students aged 12 to 18 years. Yoga is great for everybody – especially teenagers.
At a time often characterised by a variety of stresses from school to home, to peer relationships, young people can experience periods of intense self doubt, confusion and anger.
Yoga can prove an excellent resource for children and teenagers as it helps equip them with the tools they need learn to support themselves through challenges, release tension in a constructive way, and learn how to negotiate their way towards adulthood.
Our Yoga for Youth classes helps our youth endure stress, develop resilience, and improve self-esteem. Taught in the calm, supportive and invigorating studio at Unfold Yoga, the sequence of postures are suitable for those with no yoga experience and are designed to both support and energise young people.
This is an eight week course during term, starting the second week in to term. Full payment for the term is preferred to support the existence of the class, but students can also attend at any time during the term and pay by a single visit. The classes are on a week by week basis, no prerequisite of class attendance is required.
I enjoy the lessons at unfold yoga because they are fun and challenging at the same time. It isn’t too difficult and complicated which makes it fun and challenging to do and our teacher never pushed us too far with any of the pose’s. It is a great way to exercise without having to go to the gym and get all sweaty and it is suitable for I believe ages from 11 to 17 years.
