IYENGAR YOGA BEGINNERS’ COURSE
These courses are intended for the complete beginner to yoga, or as a refresher course. Over eight weeks you will progressively learn and consolidate the preliminary postures. The approach is methodical, postural awareness is improved, the mind is focused, and breathing patterns are corrected. The ability to relax deeply is learnt.
LEVEL 1 YOGA CLASSES
Start your yoga journey or build on what you’ve learned in the beginner’s course.
This class is about learning and consolidating. Working towards new poses and becoming familiar with what your body is ready for. You may not be ready for some poses and that is okay, as you will learn how to adapt poses for your best practice.
We welcome everybody to give these classes a try.
STRETCH & RESTORE CLASSES
Postures in this class are mostly supported by props and held for longer periods to release muscular tensions and tightness and to relieve fatigue and stress. Restorative yoga is a gift to oneself in this highly stimulated and competitive world, helping you to recognise the rest your body needs.
EASY PACE CLASSES
Easy pace gives time to ease in to postures, setting up a good foundation, mindfully moving in and out of postures, to access greater freedom in joints and create healthy movement patterns. Emphasis is on creating time to wind down, connect deeply and energise the body and mind. This is a gently active class, as well as a deeply restorative class for either the beginner or more mature practitioner.
These classes offer simple and practical methods to calm the breath, relax deeply, quiet the mind, release stress and experience a deep inner peace. Meditation is a natural and rewarding process where we learn to befriend ourselves thereby deepening our capacity for being present and aware. Each week teachings, practices and reflections and discussions are incorporated throughout the one-hour session.
The teacher of this course is Jenny Forsyth. She teaches and practices yoga at Unfold.

CHILDRENS’ YOGA (ages 5 – 10 years)
These classes are 45 minutes of creative, playful exploration of yoga postures, breathing, stories, games, and relaxation. Children develop strength, focus, flexibility, balance, and awareness of their own inner calm and confidence. This time nurtures each child’s very own nature and helps them connect with their loving, vibrant, and positive energy.
TEENAGERS’ YOGA (ages 12 – 16 years)
Our teen classes helps our youth cope with stress, develop resilience, and improve self-esteem. Taught in the calm, supportive and invigorating studio, the sequence of postures are suitable for those with no yoga experience and are designed to both support and energise young people.
We offer prenatal yoga within our general classes. The teacher will offer you modifications, alternative options, and props for support, as you go along in your pregnancy; these will be adapted so they are suitable for each trimester of your pregnancy. Prenatal yoga develops awareness of space for your growing baby, to allow for your changing levels of energy, as well as giving a nourishing time to replenish and connect, in preparation for birth and motherhood.
Book a private class with Loretta, principal teacher at Unfold. Private sessions are offered to either current practitioners of yoga, or people completely new to our studio.
For current practitioners: Assessment and clarification for your personal practice. Opportunity for the teacher to engage with your interests offering insight and recommendations for your practice. Helping to gain fresh awareness as well as renewed purpose and confidence in practice.
New to yoga or to our studio? Wish to understand how yoga can assist any specific conditions or injuries? A one on one session can be valuable and give the newcomer and the teacher time to assess, learn and recommend before joining a regular group class.
